I just started tracking. Yeah, the Suburban is a thirsty girl. The Jeep is difficult to track accurately because my charcoal canister is ruined, making it difficult to get consistent fuel-ups. Sometimes it fills to the 3/4 mark and refuses to take more gas, sometimes it fills up with no problem. I reckon it does around 15-17 average.

I stopped, though I wished I didn’t, always good to keep track and see the graphs.

I compared my new at the time vehicle’s computer estimate to the my manually calculated Fuelly method, it it was within 1-2%, slightly more optimistic compared to actual mpg. Close enough.

So I set the first trip computer as my constant mpg and my 2nd trip computer for between tanks comparisons, and stopped using Fuelly, though I may start to use it again.

True. My wife drives a company car, refuses to drive my Jeep, and I think she maybe drove the Suburban once... Should be easy to keep my numbers tracked.

This is my current fleet. The truck impresses me, but the Mazda is a little disappointing.

I stopped when my backups failed and I lost a year of data.

Honestly, I prefer not knowing. Most of my cars get worse mileage than I would expect them to, so being blissfully unaware is... better.

I’m impressed by both, but it’s been a long time since I’ve owned anything that can even flirt with 30.

I tried, but the Android interface was terrible. I like the idea of tracking, but really if it’s going to be something I work into my routine, I need it to be as simple as possible. When I tried it (not that long ago) it didn’t even do something as straightforward as auto-fill the date when making a submission.

Sure do! If you ever wondered how poor Legacy GT mpg is, here ya go...

Kinja'd!!!

Or my old commuterbeater, “The Gasmaster”

Kinja'd!!!

38.5 MPG for a car that cost less than two grand. Since it’s a Saturn, it probably went through more oil than gas. I have the Z06 on there too, but not many fuel-ups yet.

Just half a liter more than the official numbers, so I’m happy. Best tank was 6.7 l/100 km (35.1 US mpg) on the D-roads (90 km/h) of Eastern France, worst tank was 9.3 l/100 km (25.3 US MPG) three days later in the Dolomites and Alps.

Your Miata gets quite a lot of highway driving. I definitely used to get mileage like that. But I most certainly rarely get above 25mpg anymore. That is difficult to achieve but I basically do not drive the car without hitting the redline at some point.

I was commuting about 60 miles a day, all highway, with the Miata before I picked up the Speed6. The Miata is down on horsepower about 20% at a mile above sea level (which I believe helps with fuel economy; less air, less fuel), so redline shifts are kinda necessary.

Eek I cant imagine losing 20% of my power in that car lol. I suppose you get used to it and it just ends up feeling like a 1.6NA at sea level. And every naturally aspirated car I suppose suffers the same fate there anyways. But man that sounds rough.

I’ve used Fuelly for a while now, track all of our current vehicles on it. I still have the old 2014 Mustang on it as well, just couldn’t bring myself to “retire” it and lose the data... yet.

My BMW has an average MPG readout. It’s about 14. I miss getting 40 mpg while also hooning in my Miata. :(

It was dyno’d at 110whp/100tq in Denver. You definitely feel the loss. On the other hand, it feels SO FAST when I take it out of state now.

True dat. That’s why I’ve been daily-ing the Jeep for a couple weeks now. Seeing the numbers from the Suburban makes me not want to drive it!

I never get receipts, I’d rather not fill my car with trash, though I guess I could take a picture of the pump. Would be nice if gas stations started doing ereceipts, just like everyone else (even if it is just a ploy to collect my email for marketing purposes)

I’m paranoid about getting a tank full of water, since I live where it rains 11.5 months per year and if it happens, I want the receipt to prove I bought their tainted gas. I keep the receipt until my next fill-up, then toss it.
